‘Do it for Darian’

At least Darian King has the support of one politician.

Former Cabinet minister Hamilton Lashley believes Barbados does not do enough for its tennis ace, having lamented that King was shockingly denied duty free concessions.

Lashley expressed the sentiment after King’s older brother and coach Christopher revealed a current Cabinet minister said that “Darian hasn’t done anything for Barbados as yet that grants him duty free status”.

“I feel Darian should be able to get duty free concessions and even a diplomatic passport because this man from humble origins had made this country so proud on several occasions, including the US Open where thousands of Bajans stood up late at night in a sport where Barbados is not expected to do well,” reasoned Lashley.
