UPDATE: Fatal accident in Four Square

The island has recorded its first road fatality, less than a week into 2018, following an accident in Four Square, St Philip late last night.

Police are investigating the circumstances which resulted in the road fatality which occurred sometime around 11:30 p.m., on Friday, January 5.

The accident occurred along Four Square Road, St Philip and involved a car and a pedestrian and resulted in the death of 64-year-old Henderson Greenidge – a Barbadian living in England, and staying at Thicketts, St Philip.

Preliminary investigations revealed that Greenidge was earlier involved in an accident without injuries, and was at the scene awaiting the arrival of a tow truck.

On arrival of the tow truck, Greenidge proceeded to walk towards the truck and was struck by a motor car being driven by Rico Clarke, 28, of Lot 17A Merricks, St Philip, which was travelling in the opposite direction.

Greenidge received multiple injuries, and was transported to the QEH by ambulance where he later succumbed to his injuries.
