The Barbados Water Authority (BWA) advises its valued customers that as part of its efforts to address the challenges on the south coast sewage network, there will be a shutdown of the potable water mains along Highway 7 from Jemmott’s Lane, St Michael to Upper Carters, Christ Church from midnight tonight until 4 a.m. tomorrow, Wednesday, January 10.

This is to facilitate a further CCTV inspection of the sewer network which is separate and distinct from the potable water network. However, as the use of potable water leads to the creation of waste water in the sewer network, the BWA is asking residential and commercial customers and those with domestic and commercial tanks to assist with this exercise by restricting their use of water during the time of the shutdown.

Ideally, the sewer lines need to be empty in order to accommodate the inspection.

The Barbados Water Authority thanks the public for its patience and understanding as they work diligently to get the problem rectified. (PR)
