HEAD coach Emmerson Trotman has given Barbados Pride seven on a scale of ten for their performance in the 2017-18 Digicel Professional Cricket League but is worried about the lack of consistency shown throughout.
Barbados, a traditional powerhouse, will be seeking to end a modest season on a high when they clash with champions Guyana Jaguars at Kensington Oval in the ninth and penultimate round four-day match starting today.
“It would be a nice game to win, it would be nice to beat them and expose a few youngsters as well. I am looking forward to a good competitive game, but we have to play well,” Trotman said yesterday after a net session yesterday morning that was curtailed by steady rain.
“The lack of consistency has been an issue, much of the problem has been mental. The boys have to think more and show more awareness. That is what has been lacking with some of the youngsters, the ability to think long and bat long sessions, that is very important,” he noted. (MK)
