Boy charged with assault

A 15-year-old boy, who lives in St Michael, was charged with assaulting another schoolchild and was expected to appear in court today.

Video circulating on social media showed a group of schoolchildren at a bus stop where a boy put a lighter to the girl’s hair and set it on fire while she was focusing on her mobile phone.

Another student extinguished the blaze.

The incident is reported to have occurred at Horse Hill, St Joseph. (SAT)
