King Bubba is all set to headline the Mount Gay Bequia Music Fest in St Vincent and Grenadines tonight.
It is an exciting start to 2018 for the artiste who has been living the life in recent times.
After the launch of the FM Band June last year at the start of the Crop Over season at the inaugural Illuminate fete, it has been non-stop action for the rum king.
“I’ve been on the road every weekend since then . . . . I’ve touring the world and I even did a few gigs with Machel Montano, Labour Day in New York and Miami Carnival,” he said.
Bubba was eager to perform for the Bequia crowd.
“I’m really excited because this is a big step up. This is my first headlining gig so we’re working hard, rehearsing and we’re going to set the place on fire,” Bubba promised.
This would not be the first time a local act has performed at the festival, an in previous years, 2 Mile Hill has been one of the featured acts during the annual festival.
But after his stop in the Grenadines this weekend, Bubba has other quickly approaching appearances, including the Berlin Carnival in Germany, and the 2018 Atlanta Caribbean Carnival.
His hectic touring schedule has been made possible thanks to the success of his music and most recently he released a remix to the 2017 track Bubbling featuring Jamaican entertainer Beenie Man.
“The song has been making some serious waves,” he added.
When he is isn’t on the road, Bubba told NATION NEWS he was working diligently to create new beats and music, some of which he promised would be released for the upcoming Crop Over season.
Teddyson John out of St Lucia is also expected to perform during tonight’s show alongside Mr Gwada Benz of Dominica, as well as Bequia’s Rockstone Band. (TG)
