Venue changed for workshop on intellectual property assets

The three-day workshop entitled Management of Intellectual Property (IP) Assets By Small And Medium-Sized Enterprises scheduled for Wednesday, January 24, to Friday, January 26, will now be conducted at Building 2, Harbour Industrial Park, (Opposite Oran Ltd.).

It runs from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. daily.

A joint initiative between the World Intellectual Property Organisation (WIPO) and the Barbados Investment and Development Corporation (BIDC), it aims to provide information to small and medium-sized enterprises and others on managing intellectual property.

The key focus is on Intellectual Property (IP) and the importance of effective IP management to enhancing competitiveness. To this end, the sessions will address: Managing IP in International Business; IP Law and Administration in Barbados; Leveraging Technical Innovation in the Marketplace: A Practical Approach; Packaging and Branding; and Understanding of the Basic Concepts and Tools of Marketing.

Acting Minister of Industry, International Business, Commerce and Small Business Development, Adriel Brathwaite, is expected to give opening remarks at the start of the workshop tomorrow, Wednesday, January 24, at 9 a.m. (BGIS)
