It was twice as nice for Haynes House, who repeated as champions of St Christopher Primary when the school held its athletics meet last Friday at Dover, Christ Church.
Haynes (Purple) tallied 632 points to Blades’ (Green) 594, Corbin’s (Yellow) 576 and Ifill’s (Orange) 505 when the dust settled.
It was not all about the champs, however, as the other houses basked in the glory of winning the victor and victrix ludorum titles.
Ifill’s Nicholl Cadogan, with 42 points, gave his housemates plenty to scream about. The Under-13 athlete was victorious in the 100, 200, 400 and the long jump and finished second in the 800.
The joint top girls, Tania Harris of Blades and Isha Moore of Corbin matched speed all day long to amass 34 points each. Harris showed great staying power to run away with the 400 and 600.
In the sprints, Moore extracted her revenge, finishing second in the 100 and one better to win the 200 metres. In the process Harris had to be content with a pair of third-place finishes.
Other outstanding athletes to run away as divisional champions were Nikeel Birkett (21 points), Lenroy Barker (33) and Tiaja Hall (15), all of Corbin House, and Nicova Prescott (30) of Blades. (LY)
