The Ministry of Tourism and International Transport, in collaboration with the Barbados Statistical Service (BSS), will be collecting information in order to construct a Tourism Satellite Account for Barbados.

According to officials from the Ministry, information is required on the percentage of business which is generated as a result of tourism activity in other sectors of the economy.

The surveys will be conducted by enumerators working under the supervision of the BSS. These enumerators will have official Identification cards and will visit businesses, and, if necessary, set up appointments to collect the data.

For further information, persons may contact Senior Statistician at the BSS, Todne Woods, at 535-2600, or email [email protected]; or Chief Research Officer, Gale Yearwood, at 535-7516, or email [email protected]. (BGIS)
