Members of the Drug Squad have arrested and charged a Jamaican national, for several drug related offences which were allegedly committed at the Grantley Adams International Airport on Monday, January 26.
He is 40-year-old, Deorian Orlando Duhaney and he has been arrested and charged with possession of cannabis, possession with intent to supply, trafficking cannabis, and importation of cannabis.
Duhaney arrived in Barbados by air on Monday, January 26, from Jamaica via Trinidad. Having cleared immigration, he was interviewed by police. He was subsequently referred to the Queen Elizabeth Hospital, where he later passed out 47 taped packages containing cannabis.
He was subsequently arrested and charged with the offences and is expected to appear in the District ‘B’ Court tomorrow.
The weight of the cannabis is 0.5 pounds, and it has an estimated street value of $2 000. (PR)
