Several children from the Good News Community Club got a chance to parade colourful and creative Easter bonnets on Saturday.

Organiser and club director Hazel King said it was a fun exercise which incorporated Bible lessons the children learnt at club, as well as important aspects of community spirit.

She explained the club was an after-school and school-break programme for those in the Upper Collymore Rock, Pine Plantation Road, St Michael community and environs.

It began over 20 years ago, catering to about 26 children from as young as two years old.

King, a 77-year-old entrepreneur who also does voluntary work at the Ann Hill School, Wilkie Cumberbatch Primary, Irving Wilson School and Unique High School, added the children along with their parents made the pretty hats and costumes.

Niema Bynoe won the 2-5 category and Makyla Best the five-and-up. (SB)
