Police are on the scene of what appears to be a case of vandalism of a constituency office.

The windows of the office of candidate for St Michael North West Chris Sinckler were broken at the front and side of the building.

One of his campaign workers said the two incidents occurred last night and this morning. The office is located at the corner of Black Rock Main Road and St Stephen’s Hill and across from the St Stephen’s Church.

Sinckler and his scores of canvassers are in the field right now handing out his just launched constituency manifesto.

Sinckler said the canvassers are concerned but he told them to be calm and continue with the job.

“I disappointed shocked that people would do this kind of thing,” he said.

He said that given the situation he will have to beef up the security.

“We are renting [the office] and can’t afford to have it vandalised,” he said, adding the issue will be discussed.

Sinckler said the vandalism was the first in 30 years of association with the constituency and the first in his ten years as a Member of Parliament. (AC)
