General secretary of the Barbados Workers’ Union Toni Moore is encouraging union members to go out and vote on Election Day.

However she has told them to be cognisant of where they put their ‘x’, while making it clear she was not telling them who to vote for.

She gave the advice during the annual May Day celebrations on Browne’s Beach, St Michael today.

With members drawn from various companies across the island, the crowd listened intently to her delivery.

While reminding them they needed to speak up for the future they want, she urged them to “value the power of your x. . . . because May 24 will be a new day for Barbados”. (RA)
