The Democratic Labour Party (DLP) has been feeding scratch grain to poor people while serving the rich “the whole hog”.

Leader of the Barbados Labour Party (BLP) Mia Mottley made this comment on Wednesday night at Deacons Farm, St Michael during her party’s national meeting.

Mottley took the stage around 10:30 p.m. following a number of speakers including Neil Rowe, Noel Lynch and retired Lieutenant Colonel Jeffrey Bostic.

When she arrived, she was welcomed by a loud response by the supporters gathered.

During her address, Mottley questioned why Minister of Finance Chris Sinckler awarded so many of the government contracts to businessman Mark Maloney, and why tax concessions only go to a few.

“You can afford to pay contracts of a man that always go over budget but can’t pay to support the people that helped build this country,” she charged. (TG)
