A fire of unknown origin occurred about 3:34 p.m. yesterday, damaging two cars; a black Mazda owned by Dionne Marshall of Wilkinson Road, Richmond, St Michael, and a gold coloured Honda Legend registration number and owner unknown at the time.

Both vehicles were parked in the garage owned by 54-year-old Paul Williams, located at the corner of Redman Road and Weekes Land, Goodland, St Michael.

Williams operates an auto body repair business at Goodland, adjoining his residence, which consists of a paint booth, workshop and office. The office is a wooden structure and the workshop and paint booth are wall.

Yesterday, Williams cleaned off the Mazda and placed it at the workshop entrance and placed the Honda motor car in the paint booth having prepared it for spray painting. He subsequently left home about 1:30 p.m.

About 4 p.m., he was informed by a friend that his house was on fire. He returned to his residence and discovered the vehicles partially burnt, mainly the rear bumpers of both vehicles and the right rear tyre and fender of the Mazda.

One fire tender with four fire officers from the Probyn Street station extinguished the fire.

Investigations into this matter are continuing. Anyone who can provide information to assist with these investigations is asked to contact the Black Rock Police Station at telephone 417-7500. All information received will be strictly confidential. (PR)
