Two teams – Crane Resort St Catherine and CounterPoint Wanderers – are still unbeaten after the third round of matches Sunday in the Barbados Cricket Association’s Sagicor General Twenty20 competition.

On a day when three of the six matches went right down to the wire and were decided off the final ball, St Catherine edged ESA Field Pickwick by four runs, while Wanderers defeated Bayview Hospital YMPC by seven wickets to maintain their 100 per cent winning record.

• AT FOURSQUARE OVAL: Pickwick and St Catherine fought a ding-dong battle that went down to the final ball before the visitors prevailed by four runs and maintained their unbeaten run.

Set 139 to win and requiring nine from the last over, Pickwick could only manage four singles while losing Tino Best’s wicket to off-spinner Dwayne Skeete who delivered three wickets for 19 runs.

Pickwick captain Kyle Hope carried his bat for an unbeaten 69 off 46 balls in a losing cause.

St Catherine’s total was built around partnerships of 42 and 54 for the first and third wickets, respectively, the first between Ulric Batson (20) and Neil Browne (15) and the other by topscorer Alcindo Holder (31) and skipper Kenroy Williams (29). (WH)
