Five players score doubles

Five players scored double strikes in the latest round of matches in the National Sports Council’s Bico Primary Schools Football Competition Friday.

Over at Blenheim in the Reggie Haynes Zone, George Lamming defeated People’s Cathedral 4-2 in a match where two players found the nets twice.

Nicholas McCollin scored twice for the winners, while Matthew Clarke bagged a brace for People’s Cathedral.

The other two games at the same venue were close. Champions Wilkie Cumberbatch edged St Cyprian’s Boys 1-0 with the help of an own goal, while BWU Co-Operative Credit Union Charles F. Broome came from a goal down to achieve a 1-1 draw against Belmont.

At Briar Hall in the Michael Foster Zone, St Winifred’s beat St Angela’s 3-0 with a brace from Ari Manning while Milton Lynch triumphed 4-0 against Willa as Miholyle Norgrove scored twice for the winners.

In the other two matches in the zone, St Garbriel’s won 1-0 against St Christopher, while Vauxhall and St Bartholomew played to a 1-1 draw.

Over at Greens in the Seymour Nurse Zone, St Jude’s beat Workman’s 2-0 courtesy of a double strike by Shamari Lewis, while Cuthbert Moore and Bay Primary shared the spoils 1-1. (HG)
