A 26-year-old St George resident was injured at the end of a political motorcade.

The incident occurred around 4:45 p.m. today at Farm Road, Ellerton, in the same parish.

Police public relations officer, Acting Inspector Rodney Inniss, told Nationnews the man had originally been sitting in the tray of a truck and then moved to a seat on the edge. It was from there he fell into the road and was taken to the Queen Elizabeth Hospital for treatment.

The motorcade was in support of Democratic Labour Party candidate for St George South, Esther Byer Suckoo. (SAT)
