This summer, young Barbadians will again be exposed to valuable information which should greatly assist them as they prepare for the workforce.

The Productivity Council will host four workshops on Preparation for the World of Work for students of secondary and tertiary institutions; new entrants to the workplace; and members of youth groups who are between the ages of 16 and 25.

The two-day training sessions will be held on July 11 and 12; July 18 and 19; July 25 and 26; and August 8 and 9 at The Productivity Council, 3rd Floor, Baobab Tower, Warrens, St. Michael, beginning at 9 a.m. each day.

Participants will be taught: How Do I Prepare for the World of Work? Career Planning; Resumé and Cover-Letter Writing; and Interviewing Techniques. Human resource practitioners will be on hand to interview the participants and identify their strengths and weaknesses to assist them in mastering the interview process. They will also learn how personal attributes can contribute to job performance.

To register, persons should call Tara Parris at 535-5901 or email [email protected]. (BGIS)
