Consett Bay covered by seaweed

Share post:

AT FIRST GLANCE, Consett Bay in St John looks like a brown carpet.

A blanket of sargassum seaweed covers the water, obscuring the ocean below and making it almost impossible for fishermen to reach the jetty.

Earlier this week, a swath of seaweed came ashore and those who fish in the area say it is the worst they have ever seen.
