The overseas artistes are on island and all set to join our excellent cadre of local acts – we are ready for this year’s diet of Pan!

Fidel Nadal and members of the Alternative Quartet, who are both on the cards for Saturday’s First Citizens Pan Fusion in association with C&W Business, arrived on island amidst the celebrations outside of the Grantley Adams International Airport (GAIA) arrival doors on Wednesday, July 11. While Dane Gulston, who is set to perform at Massy Pan Pun De Sand in association with Cave Shepherd and Ticketpal Caribbean, landed on Thursday afternoon, July 12.

The National Cultural Foundation (NCF) has a long history of cultural cooperation and exchanges both internationally and with our regional neighbours. Many initiatives have been explored in tandem with a number of ministries from culture, to tourism to foreign affairs, to forge lasting relationships with for example Cuba and Brazil, that could have a positive impact on our cultural tourism products.

The inclusion of the award-winning Argentinean reggae artiste, Fidel Nadal to perform on the First Citizens Pan Fusion stage allows for continued cooperation with our Central and South American neighbours in a reciprocal introduction to the richness of our cultures and indigenous art forms. The Crop Over Festival is an ideal opportunity to expand on these exciting cultural exchanges.

With Trinidad and Tobago’s revolutionary string ensemble the Alternative Quartet and Pan Extraordinaire Dane Gulston, in addition to the 1688 Collective, Andre Forde with the Andre Forde Project featuring Edwin Yearwood and the Mosaic Steel Orchestra, igniting these two shows over the weekend, patrons can look forward to exceptional performances, musicianship and a great pan party.
