Drone ban may be lifted

Drone users may finally have some good news.

That’s because the Barbados Labour Party (BLP) Government is ready to turn its eye to lifting the drone ban that was first implemented in 2016.

Following the launch of the Grantley Adams International Airport (GAIA) 80th anniversary logo, Minister of Tourism and International Transport Kerrie Symmonds on Friday revealed that the ministry would soon be looking to implement regulations to permit the use of drones in Barbados.

 “The intention would be to get it lifted; but it would have to be lifted under the correct circumstances after the necessary training and licensing process are put in place,” Symmonds said following the ceremony. (AD)
