In one of the most staggering performances in recent times, the Barbados physique and bikini fitness team captured seven first place trophies and earned three pro cards from the 45th Central American and Caribbean (CAC) Championships in Mexico, over the weekend.

Ramona Morgan (body fitness), Vanessa Jones (bikini fitness) and Asha Chase (fitness), all earned pro cards after conquering the field in their respective divisions. Every single member of the team cracked the top three.

Speaking on telephone link-up from Miami Monday morning, president of the Barbados Amateur Bodybuilding & Fitness Federation, Dr Alfred Sparman, said he was overwhelmed with the team’s impressive showing.

“Forget about cloud nine. I am on cloud ten. This is really big. I am ecstatic. We took just 12 athletes, but it was a quality team. As I said before we departed, it is not the size of the ship, it is the motion of the ocean. This is unprecedented,” he said. (MK)
