Two injured in Haynesville shooting

Around 5:30 p.m. yesterday, police carried out an operation in the Haynesville, St James area, where people were involved in cockfighting.

On arrival police officers were met with men with weapons and there was an exchange of gunfire. Two males (a 33-year-old resident of Clifton Hill, St John) and a 40-year-old of (Retreat Terrace, Black Rock, St Michael) received gunshot injuries and were transported to the Queen Elizabeth Hospital for medical attention.

A firearm and a number of live rounds were recovered.
