Tuesday nights in Newbury, St George, will never be the same.

On that night every week around 10 p.m., the rural district usually came alive with the sweet sounds of reggae and other “conscious” tunes played by John Pollard, familiarly known as DJ JP International.

Had those around him known that last week was going to be his last, they might not have wanted him to shut down the set.

On Monday around 2 p.m., police said they received a report about a car which appeared to have been involved in an accident. The white vehicle was off the road in a bushy area near a number of wells at the junction of Bridge Cot and Cottage Road, St George.

Police responded, made a search and discovered the car. Further investigations led to Pollard’s body in a well. (TG)
