Minibus and route taxi (ZR) permit holders are being put on notice that some permits may soon be revoked.

Sunday Sun investigations revealed this was one of the major topics set to be discussed at this evening’s special meeting for the groups.

The meeting has been convened by the Transport Authority and will be held at the Lloyd Erskine Sandiford Centre Two Mile Hill, St Michael.

“The issue of the number of permits that surfaced prior to the last election will be revisited, and owners are going to be alerted that there is going to be some revoking of some of those permits,” a source said.

Additionally, the source said it was the authority’s expectation that permit owners would shoulder more responsibility.  (RA)
