Two years after he was dismissed as senior pastor of the People’s Cathedral, Pastor Andre Symmonds is cautioning church leaders to beware of the temptations they will encounter in the course of their work.
Next Sunday, Symmonds officially takes over the leadership as senior pastor of Calvary Temple Community Church, another Pentecostal assembly in St Philip. His election came after a two-year hiatus during which he underwent counselling after being accused of sexual misconduct within his former church.
In a Sunday Sun interview, Symmonds conceded there might have been a semblance of impropriety on his part in the circumstances, which he suggested might have been more glaring because “I was the pastor”. (GC)
