The following is a statement by General Secretary of CTUSAB Dennis De Peiza on the passing of Evelyn Greaves.

It is with profound sadness that the Congress of Trade Unions and Staff Associations of Barbados (CTUSAB) responds to the news of the passing of Bro. Evelyn Greaves; former member of Parliament and Barbados’ High Commissioner to Canada.

In paying tribute to his life and memory, CTUSAB considers the late Bro. Evelyn Greaves a stalwart of the Barbados Labour Movement. He will be remembered for the dedicated service rendered as a long-standing employee of the Barbados Workers Union, serving in the offices of Deputy General Secretary and Principal of the Barbados Workers Union Labour College 1974-1996.

He will be remembered as one who stood up for the observance of principles and being committed to the education of members of the workforce.

The family of CTUSAB mourns his passing.

Our condolences are extended to his wife, daughters, members of his immediate and extended family. May he rest in peace.
