Former Olympic track and field coach Jerston Clarke thinks the National Sports Council has been a failure and the time has come for it to be restructured.

Clarke told the NATION, the Government-run coaching programme has to be overhauled.

“If the programme continues as it is now, it is a waste of time. Little or no skill is learnt at some of these sessions,” he said.

Clarke said that some coaches do not even turn up, adding that it had been happening as far back as the 1980s. (MK)
