Transport Board Marketing and Corporate Communications Manager, Lynda Holder issued this message from the Department of Emergency Management headquarters moments ago.

“It is business as usual for us here in Barbados and from that aspect, we have had buses on the roads of Barbados as is the norm,” Holder said as she sat next to Director of Emergency Management Kerry Hinds.

“That will continue throughout the day unless we are given instructions based on the deteriorating conditions then to make the changes,” she added.

This comes follows a statement from Acting Prime Minister Dale Marshall at 6 am that there will be no national shutdown.

According to forecasts from the Barbados Meteorological Service, heavier rains are expected later today.

As a result, Holder explained there were certain conditions, like flash flooding, that the buses would not be able to operate in.

Holder urged Barbadians to keep watch on the storm and be ready to make alternative arrangements if the buses have to divert. (AD)
