The Ministry of Housing, Lands and Rural Development has advised those people who are clearing land owned and managed by the Crown, and erecting structures that they should cease immediately.

According to the Ministry, this illegal activity is taking place at locations around the island. The Ministry has made it clear that, as managers of Crown land, it will be taking the steps necessary to bring all such unauthorised uses to an end.

Additionally, the law provides for enforcement notices to be served by the Town Planning Department requiring the removal of the structures. If this is not done within 28 days of the notice being served, the structures will be demolished. (BGIS)
