A number of workers of the Town and Country Planning Department are currently off the job.

The NATION was reliably informed that the staff reported to work as usual around 8:30 this morning but around 9, downed their tools.

This, a source said, is as a result of ongoing environmental problems that have plagued the Garrison, St Michael building. Moreover, the source claimed, management has not moved to rectify the issue even after several complaints from workers and their representative, the National Union of Public Workers (NUPW).

“The environmental problems have become increasingly unbearable and workers walked out because they can’t bear it anymore,” the source added.

Reports suggest that the NUPW is expected to meet with management shortly. (SDB Media)
