No bedbug infestation

While bedbugs are a public nuisance, they are not a public health problem.

Acting Chief Medical Officer Dr Kenneth George said Barbados does not have a bedbug infestation, only isolated reports, most of which they could not confirm following investigations.

However Chief Environmental Health Officer Francina Bascombe advised anyone who suspected they had bedbugs in their home to seek professional help, as they were resistant to conventional insecticides.(CA)
