Only two months after last season’s climax, the Barbados Football Association’s Premier League is ready to get rolling on Sunday with three enticing fixtures to kick off 2018-19.
Last season’s format of 12 clubs competing in two zones for the right to be called champions is set to continue with Zone 1 clubs, Porey Spring United, Brittons Hill, the University of the West Indies (UWI) Blackbirds, Notre Dame, newcomers Barbados Soccer Academy (BSA) and reigning back-to-back kings Weymouth Wales given the opportunity to set the early standard for the league.
Porey Spring oppose Brittons Hill in the opener at 4 p.m. and the St Thomas club, newcomers to the top flight last season, have not made any notable changes.
They will be seeking to improve on their debut Premiership performance, after narrowly avoiding relegation with a single win and nine losses from 16 games. (NM)
