The opposition has had enough of what it has deemed as disrespect from Government.
Opposition Leader Bishop Joseph Atherley, along with his senators Caswell Franklyn and Crystal Drakes, on Wednesday condemned the Government over what they, as well as Independent senators, have repeatedly complained about; the late availability of bills to be debated.
“I think it is disrespectful to the members of both Houses [of Parliament] to continue that kind of practice and reflect that kind of a discipline in terms of the time measures are brought to Parliament for a debate,” Atherley said.
“Not only is it disrespectful to members of the House on the Opposition side, but it’s disrespectful to non-Cabinet members as well because they may not be apprised of what is going on,” he added during a Press conference at the Office of the Opposition in Parliament Buildings. (AD)
