Action back at North Stars

Shots were heard in Crab Hill again on Saturday, but these ones were from the bat. Cricket returned to North Stars – right where it belongs.

The St Lucy district finally got to enjoy watching its community team play at home a month after a nearby shooting incident left outsiders wary of staging cricket at the North Stars ground.

“We have no concerns and feel very comfortable playing cricket here as we’re accustomed playing cricket at North Stars,” said visiting St John Cultural Second Division captain Malcolm Knight.

“Every time we’re here, we enjoy the cricket and our guys were eager to come out. I would encourage everyone to come back because the atmosphere is always great for cricket because when you look around you see the spectators coming out in their numbers.” (JM)
