The National Sports Council has called an emergency meeting at 10 a.m. to further resolve the issue of tampering with the token operated lights at its various facilities across the island.

It comes following a more than two hour long meeting last night at the gymnasium of the Garfield Sobers Sports Complex, led by chairman Mac Fingall.

Players, coaches and administrators of local sports took the opportunity to voice their concerns about the situation.

Since the development, the NSC has pulled the plug on lights at some of its venues, causing a delay in the start of the Barbados Football Association’s division one season.

However, after this morning’s meeting, a decision is likely to be made indicating when the lights will shine again. (AG-B)
