Overgrown foliage continues to choke many areas of Barbados – gutters, roads, signposts and more.
In The Belle, St Michael, there are numerous examples where the trees form a natural arch over the road which can present a risk should a branch fall while a vehicle is passing underneath.
Also in The Belle, the trees are so thick in some areas that they swallow a lamp post, which may no longer provide much needed light at night for motorists and any pedestrians using that area.
At Hangman’s Hill, St Thomas, and St David’s and Bannatyne, Christ Church, the bush reduces visibility and makes driving along those areas risky when vehicles are coming from opposite directions. (CA)
