Teachers buying from vendors

Despite a threat of transfer, teachers at Grantley Adams Memorial School are still purchasing food from vendors.

Last week the students were banned from buying food from vendors during lunch time, and teachers were also warned that it was “disrespectful” for them to do so as well. They were reportedly informed that those caught buying food from vendors would be recorded and could be transferred.

However, on Monday a group of five teachers walked out of the Blackman’s, St Joseph school and went to a vendor who has been selling on the outside for close to 30 years and purchased their lunch.

The DAILY NATION was also reliably informed that management of the school made some changes as it sought to enforce its policy on vending. (MB)
