Lea-anne Ellis now has more than 52 reasons to smile, chief among them her first bundle of joy, Serenity.
Yesterday, at the Queen Elizabeth Hospital, the 25-year-old gave birth to one of the first babies born on Barbados’ 52nd anniversary of Independence.
Though the seven-pound Serenity was a bit cranky, it was clear she brought joy to her gushing relatives. And members of the family, including aunt Victrine Gale and granny Jenitha Ellis, who brought gifts, made this clear as they admired the girl of the day.
According to Ellis, one of Serenity’s grandmothers, Andrea Husbands, predicted she would be born on November 30.
And it’s a prediction which the new mother said she was happy about.
“I have relatives born on Christmas Day, so I am glad my daughter can have this day to herself,” she said. (TG)
