Pride snatch upper hand

The glorious uncertainties of cricket were manifested at the 3Ws Oval on Saturday night with Barbados Pride gaining the ascendancy over the Leeward Islands Hurricanes.

At tea on the third and penultimate day of their first-round day-night pink ball match in the Regional 4-Day Cricket Championship, the Hurricanes were struggling on 77 for five off 27 overs in their second innings.

Having gained a slender four-run lead by dismissing Barbados Pride for 248 off 113.1 overs in response to their total of 252 in 72.2 overs, the Leewards, as has been a habit over the years, gave an inept second innings batting display.

All-rounder Justin Greaves, who has not been bowling much in club cricket lately following surgery, wasn’t expected to feature in a major way with the ball. (EZS)
