Police are investigating the death of a three-month-old.

The child, Neymar Jules, was pronounced dead just after 5 p.m. at the Sandy Crest Medical Centre along Sunset Crest, St James on Monday.

Acting public relations officer of the Royal Barbados Police Force, Station Sergeant Michael Blackman informed the media in a press release that Jules had been taken to a day care facility earlier that day.

“The child’s mother took him to the day care and pre-school where he was registered and left him in the care of the staff there. There was a routine check of the infant in the afternoon and during this check, the child appeared unresponsive. He was transported to the Sandy Crest Medical Centre for medical aid where death was pronounced,” the police reported.

The child’s parents are Mishika Jules 28, and Andre Skeete, 34, both of Boscobelle, St Peter.

Police are continuing investigations into this matter, and are asking anyone who can provide any information that can assist with the investigations to call the Holetown Police Station. (BA/PR)
