Organisers of Run Barbados are reporting growth in the series. Co-ordinator Zary Evelyn said he was pleased with this year’s turnout since they recorded growth of over 20 per cent.

“Without even looking at the final figures, there is about a 20 per cent growth or more on 2017,” he told THE NATION on Sunday, the final day.

“For the Saturday Cave Shepherd Visa Card 5K run, we are seeing a humongous growth in the numbers participating in that as well as the Columbian Emeralds International 10K.

“Today as well, with the Cave Shepherd Marathon, we had 115 people registered, which is the largest number ever in Barbados for the marathon, and the Fortress Half Marathon, which had about 425 registered,” Evelyn said. (RG)
