Church in a bind

Members of the congregation at St Mary’s Anglican Church are praying for divine intervention in a situation which has left the church in a financial bind.

Reports reaching THE NATION indicated that for almost two years the church had been paying $2 300 monthly to rent a house for its new rector, Jilian Crawford, while the vicarage at Rock Dundo, St Michael, was being renovated.

However, that renovation was completed and the vicarage ready for occupation in July, but Reverend Crawford is yet to move in.

A long-time member of the church pointed out that the rector had “demanded” cosmetic changes be made to the vicarage before she took up occupancy; but he lamented that the church had no money to do those things. (MB)
