Kim and Keisha Hamblin are sisters on a mission – to provide an unforgettable experience and memorable event for each client from inception to completion. They are the owners of Out The Box Catering, a three-year-old company.
Kim is an event planner and Keisha is a chef and when they decided to combine their strengths it was an out the box experience.
“When we decided to create a business out of our two services, I had previously owned a graphic design company called Out The Box Media,” said Kim. “So I decided to take the name with me. When you hear the name it strikes up curiosity and Keisha agreed,” said Kim.
The company got their kickstart from an event they were asked to do three years ago after Keisha executed a plan to a corporate entity to show them what she could do.
From that day they haven’t looked back.
Keisha’s love of cooking came from growing up in a large Bajan family and doing traditional dishes but she wanted to expand her range. Encouraged by her family, she holds a Bachelor degree in Culinary Arts Management from University College of Birmingham, in Britain. Keisha has been a chef for over nine years, working her way up from commis chef to executive sous chef at various hotels such as Sandy Lane and Westin Casuarina Resort & Spa in Grand Cayman. (NS)
