Nicholas Kirton and Sagicor UWI had much to celebrate on Sunday.

The ambidextrous Kirton showed his all-round proficiency in the top-of-the-table battle with second-placed BDFSP in the final series of matches in the Barbados Cricket Association’s Elite Division.

He completed a maiden hundred of 127 and followed up with a destructive spell of 4-57 from 16 overs, bowling his uncomplicated off-spin.

UWI were confirmed champions for the seventh time in 13 seasons.

They made 326 in their first innings, collecting three batting points that took them to an unassailable lead. (AR)
