Barbados chances’ of qualifying for the 2019 CONCACAF Gold Cup may be dashed but national football will rise again.
President of the Barbados Football Association (BFA) Randy Harrisgave the assurance yesterday via a statement issued on the association’s website.
It’s the first time Harris or any other member of the BFA’s executive has spoken out since CONCACAF’s disciplinary committee sanctioned Barbados by forcing the Tridents to forfeit a 2-2 Nations League qualifying match on September 6, 2018 against Guyana.
At the centre of the dispute was the eligibility of English-born central defender Krystian Pearce and striker Hallam Hope, who scored bothof Barbados’ goals in his debut on the night. (AGB)
