PSV action

Already, two owners have had their permits revoked, one has had theirs suspended for two weeks, and two others have been reported to the police in relation to the sale and purchase of PSV permits in the 74 warnings issued to PSV owners last October.

And for November and December, 180 warnings will be issued to PSV owners while 32 hearings will be held, starting from Tuesday.

These hearings will be convened twice weekly until all cases have been heard. This was revealed on Saturday by the authority’s chairman Ian Estwick.

He said though the authority had received 326 complaints between last October and December against minibuses and route taxis, they were unable to pursue some cases any further either because of the lack of evidence (such as photographs, video or audio recordings) or witnesses not being prepared to attend hearings.
