Floyd Reifer is in no way angry that he has been overlooked as a West Indies assistant coach for the upcoming series against England.

In fact, the 46-year-old Barbadian, who had a taste of working with the regional side on recent tours of India and Bangladesh, is hopeful of landing the job as head coach later this year.

Reifer served as batting coach for the Asian tours towards the end of 2018 – he was head coach for the last two T20s against Bangladesh – but with Richard Pybus taking over as interim head coach for the next few months, his services have not been retained.

“It is unfortunate and disappointing but I am not bitter about it. I have no bitterness at all. I try to focus and improve myself as a coach and continue to work with all the young guys who need help,” he told THE NATION. (HG)
