9-0 goal rush

PARADISE inflicted the heaviest defeat of the season, a 9-0 devastation of Claytons Kola Tonic Notre Dame in the Barbados Football Association’s Premier League on Sunday night at the Wildey Turf.

Resurgent Scotty’s Car Rentals St Andrew Lions also dispatched Brittons Hill United 2-0, and the University of the West Indies (UWI) Blackbirds also got past arch-rivals Barbados Defence Force Sports Programme (BDFSP) by the same score as the eighth round of fixtures concluded.

Paradise got off and running as early as the third minute.

Dario “Ears” Harewood was through on goal and with goalkeeper Tyrique Chase unsure of what to do, Harewood rounded the goalie and slammed the ball into the empty net.

Akeel Applewhaite went on a mazy run and ended up being fouled in the box by Aaron Leacock resulting in a spot kick put away by Lashley in the 19th minute.

Applewhaite got himself on the score sheet with a drive from distance in the 23rd minute that beat the keeper for pace in the far left corner. (NM)
